The Ceremony
Anand Karaj
In Love & Light
Anand Karaj, meaning “blissful union,” is the Sikh wedding ceremony. A celebration of two individuals joining in faith and partnership. Rooted in equality and devotion, it is a reminder that marriage is not just a bond between two people, but a shared spiritual journey.
During the ceremony, the couple walks four times around the Guru Granth Sahib, the Sikh holy scripture. Each round represents a vow and a guiding principle for married life: love, commitment, mutual support, and faith in the divine.
Surrounded by family, music, and prayer, the couple begins their life together with gratitude, purpose, and grace.
